Our Mission is to feed, clothe, empower, and advocate for families in need in our community, demonstrating to them the love of God.
Our Mission, simply defined, is to fulfill the plans that God has laid out for us in Psalm 82:3-4;
“Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked (poverty).”
Hunger is often invisible; yet it exists among us. As a community, we must address the root causes: lack of opportunity, inadequate education, lack of job training and poverty itself are obstacles we want to help individuals and families overcome. We focus on feeding the hungry now and finding solutions for the people we assist to help them overcome the grip of poverty.
For many single parents that are working, childcare and housing costs leave little money for food, healthcare, and other vital needs. Housing costs result in the poor having to pay greater portions of their income for substandard housing.
This year, we have changed our distribution model. We are now completely mobile. Please see the Mobile Distribution Tab for the scheduled distributions near you. In addition, we are working with other agencies in the community to assist with blood pressure checks, health information and as many other services as we can orchestrate during the distributions.
Our Empowerment Programs are not just feel-good, information gathering meetings. Our focus is to provide people with real and practical steps to get out of poverty. We are making progress, but there is still a long way to go to reach the level of impact we are working to achieve. Please check the Empowerment Tab for detailed program information.
Our resale store, Things from the Heart, helps many families in the community. We assist families with clothing and household items. The store also provides income to the pantry that is used to purchase food. Please check the Resale Store Tab for detailed information.
Each year our Toys from the Heart program provides Christmas to hundreds (a growing number) of children that are “homeless” or families going through difficulties that would otherwise not know the joy of Christmas.
Your donations give hope and new life to those who receive help and training through this ministry.
Your support feeds families and assists in funding programs that help thousands of people avoid health issues and other problems associated with poverty. We could not address these needs without your generosity and support.
